OS X Document Preparation Resources (Templates and Add-ins)

The two things to be installed on Mac OS X are:

1. Microsoft Word templates and add-ins
2. A PDF bookmarking utility called "addbookmarks.jar"

The downloadable OS_X_424_resources.zip file contains everything you need for both of these.

The installation steps are:

1. Download the OS_X_424_resources.zip file and save it to your computer.
2. Navigate to the OS_X_424_resources.zip file.
3. Double-click on the file. This runs the Archive Utility, which extracts the contents of the zip archive and creates a folder named "OS_X_424_resources".
4. Install the Microsoft Word templates and add-ins:
   1. Open a new Finder window.
   2. Navigate to the location of your "My Templates" folder for Microsoft Office. The likely location is one of the following, or something similar:
           /Microsoft Office X/Templates/My Templates
      or
           /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Templates/My Templates
      If you cannot find the folder by looking around, use the Finder to search for the folder named "My Templates" and then double-click on it in your search results.
   3. In this folder, create a new folder named Cayuse.
   4. Copy the six document templates from the OS_X_424_resources folder to your Cayuse folder.

The PDF bookmarking utility (addbookmarks.jar) is located in your OS_X_424_resources folder. You can leave it in this folder or copy it to a new location of your choosing. To execute the program, double-click on the file.
