Purchasing Radioactive Materials
Certifications should be obtained from the Office of Radiation Safety before sending requisitions to Research Foundation Procurement. The director of the Office of Radiation Safety must approve all requisitions for radioactive material before an order can be placed with a vendor. To facilitate a timely response from the Office of Radiation Safety, the following information should be provided on the requisitions:
- the approved supervisor's name (the individual who submitted the application and received approval from the University Radiation Safety Committee for the project)
- the name of the radionuclide
- the chemical form
- the amount in microcuries (uCi) or millicuries (mCi)
- the project number
