The Research Foundation’s Property unit maintains the records of all assets purchased for sponsored research projects. Property administrators assign a tracking number to each piece of equipment and maintain the RF Property and Equipment Inventory Database.
Information from purchase orders, invoices and receiving documents is entered into the Asset Management system. Once received, an inventory tag with a unique asset number and the Research Foundation project number is generated and attached to equipment in central receiving or forwarded to the department for attachment to the asset. Updates are made to the system if equipment is moved, transferred or disposed. In compliance with sponsor and OSU guidelines, Property administrators prepare and submit property reports.
